sunny warm relaxing christmas

Despite all hopes, it didn't snow at all in northern Germany. More than that it is quite warm for this time of the year and this morning the lovely sun was shining on my face while I was waking up.

This christmas was a relaxing one for me. On the 24th my brother Daniel and his wife Kirsten were here, as well as my Granny and uncle Bernie with his little daughter Jolien. We had christmas coffee and cake, played some games and unpacked all the presents.
Later that day we had dinner with my brother and his wife, emptied some wine and were laughing a lot about everything and nothing.
It simply was really nice.

On the 25th we were all sleeping as long as possible and took some walks outside.
Wednesday the 26th, my (Step) Dad's little daughter Lou (16 and she's taller than me which isn't that hard) were here and we went to a restaurant in Lübeck.
The rest of the week I spent with my Mum having Mother Daughter time. We went to the town to spent some money, chatting and drinking coffee. Relaxing as well. I'm not in the mood for big activations this year.

On Friday I met a good friend of mine for breakfast and yesterday Claudia and I took the last chance for being able to smoke in a bar.
With the new year, smoking is forbidden in bars and restaurants.

All in all, it was an unstressful holiday and I'm now looking forward to the end of my fifth semester which ends at the 22nd of January!

Cheers!

holidays are here !

First of all I wanna wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new year!!!

Finally there are 2 weeks of pure holiday in sight, juhu.

Last week we had our final presentations for this year! Light & material went very well and a day before there was a little presentation of an impromptu design.

That's what I did. A little building made out of modules which you can use for every occation. You can get special made furniture for it and make a bar, a showroom .... out of it. The size is flexible due to the modules. It was a success!

Other than that we had consultations for our Mexico project where we also had a meeting with a mexican girl from the lighting design course of studies. She helped us a lot and approved our ideas in how the people are living and that our ideas of designing for the mexican people are quite alright.

Today I'll head home for the next two weeks to spend christmas, new year and my birthday with my folks.

See you all next year!!
Have a great holiday and enjoy the time.

Regards Cony ;)

my godness or as time goes by

oh my god, is it true??? 2 weeks left to Christmas? What happened with 2007? Where is it?

But first we have to honor our dear friend Paris to his birthday, which is today!!!!
Congratulations my lovely friend!!! See you soon!

Honestly, this past 2,5 month were running next to me and somehow I feel like they are faster then me. You know? I still have so many things to do, but when? I really like sleeping, so this is not an option.

This past Sunday we went to the awesomely Christmas market in town. I don't have such a small camera to make a decent picture of it. But it was fun of course. This market is the best place to spent 10 euro's (15$ or so) in just one hour and you'll have seen the whole market.
First we needed a cup of mulled wine. MMhhh so delicious. Then people are always hungry when they are going to a market, right? So were we. Claudia and I.
Next stop, Crepe shack (French made pancakes), Bratwurst. 30 minutes passed to this point and we spent already 4 euro's each, just for food and drinks.
At the edge of the market you can find a so called break dance

This thing is just crazy, awesome and ... just great. I'm loving it since I'm 10 years old.
One hour is past and we had a final mulled wine.
Hey James, imagine this thing is standing in front of Kloppenburg and the tourist information at the market!!! Additionally it is noisy.

Last week we had our first real presentation at our Mexico Project. It was really great!! They liked our house design and the master plan ideas. I know that might sound snotty but we are just happy about it.

The 2nd of December, a Sunday, Laura Claudia and Steffen made a second perfect dinner for us. The first one was from Caro and Robert.
Let me think if I can still name all the delicious things they made.
First I finally managed to learn how to eat with chop sticks. That was also our first hint what we might be eating. Those three lovely hosts decorated the whole living room / kitchen in a slight oriental design. They had mulled wine and African music.
Kjelt, was as always too late and was nearly missing the soup. Bamboomilk, avocado and more. Great. And aromatic.
Then they had curry rice with chicken and pineapple. Extremely hot for Kjelt, but for most of us it was alright. At the end I recognized a few tears in my eyes...but they were gone in a bit.
For the dessert Steffen had a fantastic idea. They gave us some bowls with various fruit pieces and then they also had additional bowls with melted brown and white chocolate. mmmhhh. everyone was nearly quiet and enjoyed the atmosphere and the movie Big Fish, for which Laura organized a video projector.
Thank yo guys, even if it is late, for this great evening.
Kjelt, I'm looking forward to your upcoming dinner.

Salut

1. Advent 2007

Hey hey, or ho ho ho......

I wish you all a flaky funny great 1. Advent, wherever you are!!!

Yesterday Nicole told me that it is snowing in Seattle/Tacoma.

It is so typical in Germany. The sooner christmas is coming the warmer it gets. It is interesting and sad as well. I wish we could have a white christmas (with a lot of snow) again.

About the pictures you can see way below....
On Friday Claudia and I rent the light lab and the b&w fotostudio to prepare our third presentation in Light & Material. Topic: Objects
We chose sport objects and we had a surfboard, baseball mitt and bat (thank's Robert), a squash bat and balls, inline skates and a motorbike outfit.

With all this stuff we spent about 5 hours to take pictures of them with totally different light sources and angles. 1 hour we needed in the b&w studio to prepare the heavy light sources, but it was soooooo much fun, and with all this great equipment you somehow feel a bit like it is professional. Just a great day with great and awesome pictures.

After our work was done we made some fun of ourselfs and took, of course pictures of it.
